Craniosacral Therapy
CranioSacral therapy (CST) is a light touch manual therapeutic modality that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction. CST impacts the craniosacral system, which is the tissues and fluids that surround the brain and spinal cord. Tension in the craniosacral system can affect the function of the central nervous system. Therefore, CST is effective therapy for wellness and for healing for many conditions. Dr. John Upledger D.O., O.M.M. developed CST and you can find more information at the Upledger Institute website: www.upledger.com
Myofascial Release
Myofascial release(MFR) is a manual therapy technique that works to release restrictions in the connective tissue system of the body. MFR works to restore motion by applying sustained gentle pressure into the myofascial system. Increased mobility of the fascial system leads to improved posture, body mechanics, flexibility, and strength to lead to general health and benefit for many conditions that involve tissue trauma, inflammation, or adhesions. Visceral Manipulation
Visceral Manipulation(VM) is an integrative approach to treat the structural relationships between the viscera and their fascial or ligamentous attachments to the musculoskeletal system. VM works to release adhesions, dissipate stress, and restoring balance to the forces within the body. This improves function of the organs and improves mobility of the musculoskeletal system and connective tissue attachments to the organs. This is effective in treatment of many disorders including acute and chronic issues. VM was developed by Jean-Pierre Barral and for more information go to: www.barralinstitute.com
More.
Andrea is also trained in Lymph Drainage Therapy by the Chickly Institure, Healing from the Core by Suzanne Scurlock Durana, Neural Manipulation by the Barral Institute, and Esoteric Healing by the Institute of Esoteric Healing. She combines all of these techniques with traditional physical therapy exercise, postural reeducation, kinesiotaping, and other self care modalities to empower each individual.
